Instructional stunts
Stuntology by Sam Bartlett is not the kind of book you'd expect to see referenced here on Usable Help, but that's exactly why I'm calling it out. It's a fun and fascinating collection of stunts and gags, such as proving that you have an extra middle finger or balancing a can of soda on its edge, but beneath the humor it is a study in folk instructional design.
As you can see from the sample pages at Amazon, each stunt is described in a single page with charming illustrations and writing. It's really quite fun and compelling, and when was the last time you found a manual like that?
