Encouraging mobile learning
A new report from the Sesame Workshop looks at how to utilized mobile devices as tools for teaching children. The report beings:
Just as Sesame Street helped transform television into a revolutionary tool for learning among young children four decades ago, advances in mobile technologies are showing enormous untapped educational potential for today’s generation.
The report focuses on how iPod devices, cell phones, and portable gaming devices might be more widely used for learning and it notes that students today spend more time in front of various "screens" than they do in traditional classroom activities.
Clearly the effective delivery of onscreen information is important for everyone's future. Thanks to Tim O'Reilly for the tip.
