The concept of user-provide taxonomies, or "folksonomy", is certainly a buzzword in the Internet culture. But would such a plan enhance onscreen documentation? For an interesting analysis of tagging (the method by which users annotate and categorize content) on the photo sharing site Flickr, see Cathy Marhall's Do Tags Work in Eastgate's online magazine, Tekka.
