Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing
MS Help wiki for everyone
If you're a Windows Help developer, then you probably already know about the MS Help Wiki, it's a useful resource about deploying help system for the platform. But it's also interesting for its collection of links to related articles, ideas, and research; even for those working on other platforms. For example, this discussion about indexes makes some good points, but also reveals some biases in regards to the belief that what users really want is a book-like interface to onscreen information. It's certainly true that many writers want that; but it's less clear, in my opinion, that readers do.
