Using WinHelp for PHP documentation
There is an ongoing project to convert the standard PHP documentation into a full-fledged Windows Help implementation. Doing so provides a number of nice features that aren't present in the regular PHP distro.
It's an interesting idea, taking publicly available information and redeploying it in Help format. But one of the key strengths of PHP is its availability on many platforms, so one hopes that this project is always an adjunct, since Windows Help files can't be read at all on any other platform.
Another interesting facet is that they're planning on providing a number of different "skins" for the publication. Has the UI skinning craze gone that far? Do people geeks actually want to change the appearance of their documentation windows?
